BEFORE YOU GET HERE

what to do right now.

Quick steps for the most common emergencies. Then call us.

knocked-out tooth

Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently — don't scrub. Try to slip it back in the socket, or keep it in milk. Get to us within the hour.

broken or chipped tooth

Save any pieces. Rinse your mouth with warm water. Use a cold compress on the cheek for swelling. Call us to be seen today.

bad toothache or abscess

Rinse with warm salt water and floss gently to clear trapped food. Don't put aspirin on the gum. Swelling or fever means call now.

lost filling or crown

Keep the crown if you have it. Avoid chewing on that side. Call and we'll re-cement it — usually a quick fix.

EMERGENCY Q&A

the questions.

do you really see emergencies same day?

+

Yes. We hold slots open every day we're open specifically for emergencies. Call first and we'll get you the soonest opening.

i'm a new patient — can you still see me?

+

Absolutely. You don't need to be an existing patient for an emergency visit. Just call and we'll get you in.

what if it's after hours?

+

Call the number and you'll hear instructions. For anything life-threatening — trouble breathing, severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding — go to the ER or call 911.

how much does an emergency visit cost?

+

It depends on what's wrong, but we always tell you the price before doing anything. Most PPO plans cover emergency exams and X-rays.

should i go to the ER instead?

+

ERs handle life-threatening issues but rarely fix teeth. For a broken, knocked-out, or painful tooth, a dentist is faster and cheaper. For airway or uncontrolled bleeding, go to the ER.

can you help with the pain right away?

+

Yes — stopping the pain is the first thing we do. We stabilize you, then plan the actual repair once you're comfortable.
